MOORPARK, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team finished the Big West Conference Championship in eighth place following Wednesday's third round at the Moorpark Country Club.
The Rainbow Wahine carded a 310, their best score among the three rounds, for a 923 total.
Defending champion Long Beach State repeated as champion with an 886 total, eight strokes better than runner-up CSUN (894). UC Davis placed third (901) followed by UC Irvine (912), Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, and UC Riverside (913), and UH.
LBSU's Haley Tygret captured medalist honors with a 4-under 212 total after a final round 70. She was the only golfer among the 40-player field to finish under par.
UH junior
Megan Ratcliffe (72-80-74=226) tied for 11
thplace with a 10-over 226 total after carding 2-over 74 on Wednesday. Sophomore
Tyra Tonkham (79-76-76=231) shot her second straight 76 and tied for 25
that 231. One stroke back was a pair of Rainbow Wahine, senior
Kaci Masuda (78-80-75=233) and sophomore
Sahara Washington (79-78-76=233), who posted 75 and 76, respectively.
Freshman
Nicha Vorrasanpisut (83-91-98=272) completed her first Big West Championship in 40
thplace.
The Big West Championship concludes the 2018-19 season for the Rainbow Wahine.
