SANTA CRUZ, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team posted an opening round 383 on a rainy Day 1 of the 73rd Western Intercollegiate, Monday at the Pasatiempo Golf Club.
The Rainbow Warriors are in 13
thplace heading into Tuesday's second round. Host San Jose State holds the lead in the team standings at 346, two strokes better than No. 6 USC and No. 39 Oregon.
Individually, three golfers share the lead at 6-under 64 – USC's Justin Suh, San Jose State's Sean Yu, and Stanford's Isaiah Salinda.
UH's top golfer is sophomore
Justin Arcano, who carded 5-over 75 and is tied for 55
thplace. One stroke back is senior
Cameron Kaneko and sophomore
Matt Lloyd at 6-over 76. Also competing for the Warriors are junior
Trevor Hirata (77), sophomore
Justin Ngan (79), and sophomore
Cole Yoshida (83).
