MALIBU, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i women's volleyball concluded their Spring matches on Saturday morning, competing at the Pepperdine Spring Tournament at the Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu, Calif.
In the round-robin tournament, the teams only played two sets against each team. In UH's first match, the Rainbow Wahine swept Point Loma, 25-12 and 25-19. Hawai'i then split their final two matches against Southern California and Pepperdine. Against USC, the 'Bows fell in the first set 19-25 but came back to hold off the Trojans, 25-22 in the second set. In UH's final match, the Waves pulled away to capture the first set, 17-25. Hawai'i however, battled back to edge out Pepperdine to end the tourney with a 25-23 second set win. There were no stats taken at the tourney.
The Rainbow Wahine return home for a few more weeks of practice before shutting things down until August.
