FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.—The University of Hawai'i diving team continued it's trek towards the NCAA Championships with the second day of the Zone E Championships on Tuesday at the Aquatic Center of Northern Arizona University.
Senior
Johan Sandell was the standout performer of the three UH divers in the three-meter, finishing at No. 6 overall with a score of 676.75. Sandell missed the top five spot, guaranteeing him a big to the NCAA championships, but was just three points shy. Wednesday will feature Sandell's strongest event with the platform dive. If he's able to finish in the top six, then he'll qualify for the NCAAs in both the platform and the three-meter due to his finish on Tuesday for the "B" cut of the three-meter.
Freshman
Max Burman finished strong on Tuesday, just behind Sandell in the top 10 at No. 10.
Junior Jamie Stone was the lone Rainbow Wahine to compete in the women's one-meter, as she finished at No. 30.
Both squads will be in action on the final day of the Zone E championships with each team competing in the platform event.
