Men’s Golf Returns To Arizona For GCU Invitational

The University of Hawai'i men's golf team continues its spring season by competing in the Grand Canyon University Invitational, March 15-16 at the GCU Golf Course in Phoenix, Ariz.

The Rainbow Warriors will make an appearance in the tournament for the second straight year having placed 12tha year ago. The tournament is also UH's third during the spring season and first since the John Burns Intercollegiate on Kaua'i last month.

Participants will play on the 7,239-yard, par-71 course, which re-opened in 2016. The field is highlighted by defending champion Missouri and features one other Big West school, UC Riverside.

UH's contingent for the tournament includes seniors Cameron Kaneko and Bryden Salvador, junior Trevor Hirata, and sophomores Justin Arcano and Justin Ngan. Arcano has a team-best 73.6 scoring average followed by Ngan (74.5) and Kaneko (75.3), the latter of whom has led the Warriors in each of the two spring tournaments. All three have competed in all seven tournaments of the season.

Following the GCU Invitational, the Warriors will next travel to Eugene, Ore., for the Duck Invitational, March 25-26.
