Hawai'i Has Four Divers Participate in Day One of NCAA Zone E Championships

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.—The University of Hawai'i diving team took one of its last steps towards the NCAA championships in the Zone E qualifying event at the Aquatic Center on the campus of Northern Arizona University on Monday.

Four total divers competed for UH with two on the men's side and two on the women's. Freshman Max Burman made it out of the prelims into the championship round, finishing at No. 17 with a score of 530.35. Burman's place in the standings did not qualify him for the NCAA championship, but he will have another shot in three-meter dive on Tuesday.

Junior Jami Stone and sophomore Ivy Houser were not able to make it out of the preliminary round of the women's three-meter, with Houser finishing the highest of the two at No. 30.

The events will switch on Tuesday with the men diving in three-meter, and the women are competing in the one-meter.
