RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team finished in a tie for fourth place at UC Riverside's Battle at the Rock following Tuesday's final round at Oak Quarry Golf Club. After a first round 303 that put them in 10
thplace, the Rainbow Wahine shot 7-over par over the final 36 holes to move up six spots.
The teams began the day by finishing their first round after play was suspended due to darkness on Monday. UH sophomore
Sahara Washington put the finishes touches on her 2-under 70 in Round 2 that saw her birdie three of her final four holes before closing with a 75. The Universal City, Texas native closed with a 75 to finish in a tie for 13
thplace at 4-over 220.
Newcomer
Haruka Shintani had her best showing as a Rainbow Wahine with a 222 total and tie for 18
th. After an opening round 77, the native of Tokyo, Japan shot 1-over over her final 36 holes.
Hawai'i finished five strokes behind champion Grand Canyon, who totaled 17-over 881, which included a final round even par 288. Runner-up Cal Poly (882) was one stroke back followed by Santa Clara (883), and UH and Gonzaga (886). Cal Poly's Elizabeth Scholtes and USC's Alyaa Abdulghany were co-medalists at 4-under 212. Competing as an individual, Abdulghany carded a final round 4-under 68.

Megan Ratcliffe signed for a 2-under 70 in her final round to finish in a tie for 31
stplace at 225. One stroke behind her was senior
Kaci Masuda at 226 and a tie for 36
th. Newcomer
Nicha Vorrasanpisut, who made her debut in the starting five for UH, posted even par 72 in her closing round for a 227 total and tie for 41
stplace.
The Rainbow Wahine will next compete in the Grand Canyon Invitational, Feb. 23-24 in Phoenix, Ariz.
