HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's beach volleyball team capped a strong weekend of volleyball against USC by dominating at the top of the order during an exhibition pairs tournament Sunday at Queen's Beach.
 
A day after playing a pair of dual matches, the two beach collegiate heavyweights competed in a 12-team, single-elimination pairs tournament with six entries from each team. UH advanced three duos into the semifinals, while the finals ended up being an all-UH affair.
 
UH's top pair of Morgan Martin and Pani Napoleon continued their winning ways after a successful spring season. The duo claimed the tournament title with three wins, capped by a straight set win over teammates Julia Scoles and freshman Ilihia Huddleston in the finals.
 
Martin and Napoleon won the first set of the finals 21-17 before fighting off two set points in the second and deciding frame. Martin's resounding block of Scoles punctuated a 25-23 win in the second. It capped a 5-0 weekend for Martin and Napoleon who also went 2-0 in dual matches vs USC on Saturday. 
 
Scoles and Huddleston advanced to the finals with a 21-16, 21-19 win over USC's top pair of Audrey Nourse and Nicole Nourse. UH's No. 3 pair of Amy Ozee and freshman Maia Hanemann also earned a spot in the semifinals after two straight wins over USC.
