HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team concluded action in the 2019 Weinman Foundation Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Only a few Rainbow Wahine were in action on the tourney's final day at the UH Tennis Complex.
Hawai'i split their doubles matches. UH's
Maayan Sela and
Nikola Dolakova combined to defeat Washington's Stacey Fung and Nika Zupancic, 6-3 for the 'Bows only win, while Hawai'i's
Michelle Pits and
Alzbeta Houbova came up just short by a break, falling to Abbey Watanabe and Katarina Kopcalic, 6-4.
In singles, only a trio of Rainbow Wahine were in action on Saturday. All three fell in straight sets. Houbova fell to Washington's Kenadi Hance, 6-1, 6-0 while UH's
Maayan Sela fell to Ole Miss player Sabina Machalova, 6-4, 6-1. UH's
Nikola Dolakova dropped her match against UW's Vanessa Wong, 6-3, 6-1.
The Rainbow Wahine will now have 10 days off before they travel abroad to play in the Japan Invitational. The 'Bows will travel to Osaka, Japan for matches on Tuesday, Jan. 29 and Wednesday, Jan. 30.
