The Chanticleers fell to 1-4 on the season. For the fourth-straight match, McKenna Granato led UH with a match-high 14 kills while Casey Castillo added double-digit kills for the second time this season (11). Norene Iosia recorded her third-consecutive double-double with 15 assists and 10 digs and finishing three kills shy of a triple-double.

In the first set, UH outhit the Chanticleers .519-to-.103. The Rainbow Wahine took the lead from the get-go and never trailed in the set. Granato, Iosia and Skyler Williams all put down three kills apiece in the frame

In the second set, Hawai'i again started with a 3-0 lead. The lead the set from wire to wire to take a 2-0 lead over the Chants. Both Granato and Castillo paced UH with four kills apiece. The set was highlighted by three-straight blocks that Liva was in on with two double-blocks with Castillo and then Gaskin plus one solo block by Liva. The string of blocks was part of 4-0 run that pushed UH's lead to 20-12 as UH pulled away for a 25-16 win in Set 2.

The third set saw the Chanticleers take an early lead before UH was able to tie things up at 4-4. Hawai'i, however, was unable to take the lead until they edged ahead at 10-9. Four service errors in set prevented any UH momentum to start and CCU kept battling and kept the set score close as there were a total of 11 ties in the set. But, after the 'Bows took a 20-19 lead on Granato's final kill of the night, Granato went on to serve three-straight points to give UH a 23-20 lead. Coastal Carolina did not go down easy as they cozied up to UH at 23-22. But a Castillo kill gave the Rainbow Wahine match point. Then, redshirt freshman Janelle Gong, who made her first collegiate appearance of her career tonight, fired a service ace for the 25-22 win to complete the sweep.

The Chanticleers were led by Ani Bozdeva who notched eight kills and two blocks. For the second-straight night, CCU's Carla Cahill had the match-high in digs with 12 in the rematch.

Up next for the Rainbow Wahine is the Outrigger Resorts Volleyball Challenge from Sept. 6-9. Coming into Honolulu to battle the 'Bows will be former WAC foe Idaho, Portland and San Diego State who is coached by former UH All-American Deitre Collins-Parker.
