INDUSTRY HILLS, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team completed the 2018 Big West Conference Championship in ninth place after Tuesday's third and final round at the Industry Hills Golf Club.
Freshman
Justin Arcano was UH's top finisher, tying for 23
rdplace at 4-over 220 after a final round 75. The Wailuku, Maui native completed his first Big West Championship with his best 54-hole score of the spring and highest finish of the season. He completed his rookie season with a team-best 73.6 scoring average.
UC Irvine captured the team title at 852, edging out UC Davis (853) by one stroke. UC Santa Barbara (860) was third followed by Long Beach State (863), Cal State Fullerton (866), Cal Poly (876), CSUN (879), UC Riverside (885), and UH (907).
Individually, UCD's Ryan Han and UCSB's Brandon Bauman finished at 8-under 208 but Han captured the title winning on the second playoff hole.
UH sophomore
Nick Nelson posted the team's best round of the day at 1-over 73 to finish in a tie for 35
thplace at 225. Senior
Smart Kittirattanapaiboon completed his career with a final round 74 for a 226 total and tie for 37
th. Junior
Cameron Kaneko shot 76 for a 236 total and 42
ndplace while freshman
Justin Ngan was 44
thwith a 243 total.
The Big West Championship concludes UH's 2017-18 season.
