SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team made history, earning its first-ever road sweep of UC Santa Barbara following a 25-20, 25-27, 25-21, 25-14 win, Saturday night at Rob Gym. 
 
The Rainbow Warriors (17-6, 5-3 BWC) entered the weekend having never taken two matches in Santa Barbara in the same season before winning in straight sets on Friday and four-set on Saturday. The win moves UH into a two-way tie with UC Irvine for second place in the Big West Conference standings.
 
In the win, outside hitter Stijn van Tilburg became the 17^thplayer in program history to reach 1,000 career kills on his 22^ndbirthday. The junior from Amsterdam, Netherlands, finished with 14 kills and seven digs.
 
Sophomore opposite Rado Parapunov led the way for the Warriors with 20 kills, hitting .368 with two aces, and a career-best 10 blocks (2 solo, 8 assisted). The 10 blocks were the most by a UH player since Taylor Averill had 13 blocks against UC San Diego in 2015.
 
Outside hitter Brett Rosenmeier added 10 kills while libero Larry Tuileta tallied a career-high 16 digs. Freshman defensive specialist Gage Worsley came off the bench and served three of the team's seven aces. Middle blocker Dalton Solbrig chipped in with seven kills and a career-high seven blocks.
 
As a team, the Warriors hit .333 compared to .220 for the Gauchos (10-11, 3-5). UH recorded a season-high 13.5 blocks.
 
Corey Chavers had a match-high 21 kills along with two aces for the Gauchos.
 
Hawai'i wraps up the regular season with a two-match series against No. 1 Long Beach State, Friday, April 13 and Saturday, April 14 at the Stan Sheriff Center.
