IRVINE, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team shot a 299 – tied for the best round of the day – in the second round of the Big West Conference Championship Monday at Strawberry Farms Golf Club.
The Rainbow Wahine are currently in fifth place entering Tuesday's third and final round. UH is 18 strokes behind leader Long Beach State, who holds a seven stroke lead over UC Davis.
UH's
Megan Ratcliffe carded a 1-over 72 which was the third best score on Monday. The sophomore from British Columbia began her round with two birdies on her first three holes and finished 3-over the rest of the round. She currently sits in a tie for 21
st at 154.
Junior
Kaci Masuda is the top UH golfer on the leaderboard at 8-over 150 after a second round 74. The Pearl City, O'ahu native is currently tied for 12
th place. Two strokes behind Masuda is freshman
Tyra Tonkham who carded a second round 77 and is tied for 15
th at 154.
Freshman
Emma Lower is 25
th at 155 after an 80 and freshman
Sahara Washington improved 10 strokes from her first round score with a 76 and tied for 36
th at 162.
On the individual leaderboard, LBSU's Jennifer Yu maintained her lead with a second round 74 and and is 2-over 144 for the tournament. UC Irvine's Janet Yeo is two strokes back at 146.
The Rainbow Wahine will tee off Round 3 beginning at 9:15 a.m. PT.
