ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.-- The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team (0-8) fell in their final match of the Pacific Invitational to Pacific, 4-1 on Sunday morning at the Linda Estes Tennis Facility in Albuquerque, N.M.
The Tigers captured the doubles point, 2-1 with UH's No. 2 duo of
Blaz Seric and
Aleksa Lazarevic defeating Pacific's Johnathan Lieu and John Horoz Garner, 6-3.
In singles, No. 1 Seric nearly blanked Pacific's Tadiwa Chinamo in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. It marked Seric's third singles
win of the season. Unfortunately for the 'Bows, that would be the only win for UH against the Tigers. On the No. 4 court,
Aleksa Lazarevic battled back to win the second set to force a third set against Akram el Sallaly, but fell in the third, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2. Both No. 2
Felix Albert and No. 3
Lucas Labrunie evened their matches in the second set, but both their matches went unfinished.
The Rainbow Warriors will stay on the mainland as they are heading to the Golden State Invitational hosted by Sacramento State and UC Davis. In the Sac State bracket, UT Arlington plays Saint Mary's, while UH will take on Sacramento State. The tournament runs from Friday, March 9 - Sunday March 11.
