SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team got back on the winning track with a sweep at Cal Poly, 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Mustang Tennis Courts. The Rainbow Wahine improved to 7-6 overall and 3-2 in the Big West, while Cal Poly fell to 4-10 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
 
The 'Bows won the doubles point to start the match with UH's No. 1 duo of Klara Pribylova/Nikola Dolakova defeated Abigail Bacharach/MacKenzie Worsnop, 6-3. UH's No. 2 pair of Petra Melounova and Roxanne Resma then clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 win over Caroline Williams/Grace Olyphant.
 
Hawai'i took that momentum into singles play. No. 1 Melounova nearly blanked CP's Worsnop, 6-1, 6-1. UH's No. 5 Michelle Pits followed with a straight set win over Celine Gruaz, 6-4,6-1. Roxanne Resma then clinched the match with a hard-fought 7-5, 6-4 win over Bacharach on Court #6. UH's No. 4 Pribylova held off Cal Poly's Olyphant, 6-3, 7-6(4). With the match already decided, the final two matches finished by third set tiebreakers and gutsy performances by Dolakova and Marina Hruba. On the No. 2 court, Dolakova battled back to defeat Susanne Boyden, 6-1, 5-7, 10-8. Hruba almost won in two sets, but fell in a tight second set tie-breaker, 12-10. She came back to complete the sweep for UH knocking off Williams, 6-1, 6-7 (10), 10-5.
 
The Rainbow Wahine will remain in California to take on UC Santa Barbara on Friday, March 30 at 11:00 am.
