KAPALUA, Maui – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team currently holds the Round 1 lead at the 2018 Anuenue Spring Break Classic at The Bay Course. The host Rainbow Wahine fired a 290 on Monday and leads 28
th-ranked Louisville (296) by six strokes.
Junior
Kaci Masuda has the individual lead at 3-under 69, one stroke clear of Utah Valley's Ana Margarita Raga. Masuda posted five birdies on her back nine for a 32 with birdies on Nos. 10, 11, 15, 17, and 18, including a 30-footer on her closing hole.
Freshman
Emma Lower went 1-under on her back nine to post even par 72 and is tied for fifth place, three strokes behind Masuda.
In the team standings, Oregon State is third (301) followed by Santa Clara (303) and Long Beach State (304). Individually, only two other golfers shot under par – Louisville's Lauren Hartlage (71) and Santa Clara's Kristen Le (71).
UH sophomore
Megan Ratcliffe carded a 2-over 74 and is tied for 10
th place while freshman
Sahara Washington posted three birdies on her final four holes for a 3-over 75 and is tied for 17
th place. Freshman
Tyra Tonkham finished strong at 1-under over her final five holes for a 78.
Senior
Lauren Kirkwood competed as an individual and carded a 91.
The tournament continues with Round 2 on Tuesday with split tees at 8:00 a.m.
