PHOENIX, Ariz. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team posted a final round 298 to finish the Grand Canyon Invitational in 12
th place Saturday at the GCU Golf Course.
The Rainbow Warriors totaled 892 for the tournament, which was won by No. 40 Missouri (850), who held off a charging Pacific by two strokes (852). Host GCU finished third (856) followed by Big West teams Long Beach State (859) and UC Riverside (862).
Freshman
Justin Arcano and sophomore
Nick Nelson tied for top team honors for the Warriors at 9-over 222. Arcano carded a final round 75 while Nelson shot 77 as the duo tied for 49
th overall. Senior
Bryden Salvador posted a second straight 74 to finish at 224 and a tie for 56
th. Junior
Cameron Kaneko had the best score of the day for Hawai'i at 1-over 72 to finish at 226 and a tie for 64
th.
Sophomore
Trevor Hirata tied for 85
th at 235 after a final round 81.
UOP's Casey Scott captured medalist honors at 6-under 207, one stroke ahead of CSUN's Felix Mory (208).
The Rainbow Warriors will next compete in the Western Intercollegiate, April 7-8 in Santa Cruz, Calif.
