SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team concluded the final round of the Bruin Wave Invitational Tuesday at the San Luis Obispo Country Club with a tie for 11
th place
On another chilly day, the Rainbow Wahine managed to post their best score of the tournament (313) for a 946 total. No. 10 USC captured the team title at 896 edging top-ranked UCLA (904) and No. 4 Stanford (906).
UH, which finished one stroke behind Big West rival Cal Poly (945), tied with 43
rd-ranked California and was eight strokes clear of 49
th-ranked San Jose State (954).
Individually, Lilia Vu of UCLA went wire-to-wire to capture medalists honors at 1-under 215, two strokes ahead of Stanford's Albane Valenzuela (217).
UH's top finisher was sophomore
Megan Ratcliffe, who carded a 76 on Tuesday for a 17-over 233 total and tie for 27
th place. Freshman
Tyra Tonkham birdied her final hole for a final round 78 and 235 total, which tied her for 36
th place.
Junior
Kaci Masuda also posted a 78 for a tie for 50
th place at 239 while freshman
Sahara Washington capped the tournament with an 81 to tie for 56
th at 242. Freshman
Emma Lower finished in a tie for 69
th place at 246.
The Rainbow Wahine will next host Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, March 13-14 at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course.
