'Bow Bits
  • UH opens the 10th annual Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic versus UNLV. Also in the tournament are Bucknell, Charlotte, Colorado, Indiana State, Rhode Island and TCU.
  • UNLV has won five straight in the series with the last game in 2012. 
  • This will be the second meeting between the team in the HADHC. UNLV defeated UH in the semifinals of the inaugural tournament in 2009.  
  • The Rainbow Warriors are coming off a 76-51 win over Mississippi Valley State on Dec. 16, holding the Delta Devils to a season-low point total for a UH opponent.
  • The 'Bows are 5-1 at home so far this year with its lone loss coming to North Texas, a squad that is 11-1 this year and receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
  • Nine of UH's 10 games this year have been decided by double-digits. The team's closest game was an 82-75 win over UH Hilo on Dec. 8.  
  • UH has had a different leading scorer in each of its last six games.
  • This will be the team's third three-game tournament. UH has already competed in the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic and the Wooden Legacy in November.
  • Following its game against UNLV, UH will face either Colorado or Indiana State. 
 
About UNLV: The Running Rebels improved to 5-4 with a 92-90 overtime win over BYU on Dec. 15...that win snapped a three-game losing streak...this will be just the second road game for UNLV....the Rebels were picked sixth in the MW preseason poll...senior guard Kris Clyburn leads a balanced attack at 12.3 ppg.
 
UH in the Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic:  UH is 11-13 all-time in the tournament (three wins vacated in 2012 and '13)...UH is 3-6 in DHC openers and has advanced to the championship bracket three times overall...UH's best finish is third place, which occurred in 2014 and '15...UH finished sixth last year after going 1-2.
