Game Notes:
- The former Western Athletic Conference rivals will meet for the 31st time and fourth since 2011. UH is seeking its first win in the series since 2001.
- The teams will resume the series in 2024 in Provo and 2025 in Honolulu.
- BYU has won four straight in the series and 10 of the last 11. The Cougars lead the all-time series 22-8, including 9-0 in Provo.
- The teams last met in Honolulu to close out the 2017 regular season with BYU winning, 30-20.
- Hawai'i (6-1) is coming off a come-from-behind 17-13 victory over Wyoming last Saturday, which included a late UH touchdown pass and defensive stand to seal the win. The Warriors reclaimed the Paniolo Trophy and improved to a perfect 3-0 mark in MW play.
- BYU (3-3) dropped a 45-20 decision to Utah State in Provo last Friday, the first of three Mountain West opponents on its schedule.
- UH is off to its best seven-game start (6-1) since the 2007 season. Hawai'i has posted a 6-1 record or better only three previous times since becoming a Division I program (1981, '92, and 2007).
- A win on Saturday would give Hawai'i its seventh win and bowl eligibility. UH last appeared in the 2016 Hawai'i Bowl.
- UH received one vote in the this week's Associated Press poll and a season-high six votes in the Amway Coaches poll.
- UH is 2-1 in road games this season. Under head coach Nick Rolovich, UH is 6-9 in road games (3-3 in '16; 1-5 in '17; 2-1 in '18).
- UH has scored 40+ points or more in five of its six victories this season. The Warriors are 9-0 under Nick Rolovich when scoring 40+ points and 20-0 including his tenure as UH offensive coordinator (2010-11).
- UH will make its fourth appearance on national television this season. The Warriors are 2-1 with wins over Colorado State and Navy and a loss at Army.
- BYU receiver Dylan Collie was a three-year letterman for the Rainbow Warriors (2015-17), with 20 starts in 39 career games. He finished with 118 career receptions for 1,300 yards and nine touchdowns.
