PRINCEVILLE, Kaua'i – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team kicked off the 7
thannual Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational with an opening round 299 Sunday at The Makai Golf Club. The Rainbow Warriors currently sit in 20
thplace.
Eleventh-ranked Pepperdine leads the field at 273 followed by Ole Miss (276) and UAB (278). The start of the tournament, which features four nationally-ranked squads, was delayed one-hour due to rain. The rain disappeared later in the day and saw 40 of the 112-player field shoot under par, including Ole Miss' Josh Seiple, who shot 7-under 65 and holds a one stroke lead over a group of four golfers.
The host Warriors were led by sophomore
Justin Arcano, who carded a 1-over 73. The Wailuku, Maui native was 2-under on his back nine that featured an eagle and two birdies. Arcano is currently tied for 52
ndplace heading into Monday's final second round.
