SIMI VALLEY, Calif. – University of Hawai'i sophomore
Justin Ngan is three strokes off the lead at the Bill Cullum Invitational as Monday's Round 2 was suspended due to darkness at the Wood Ranch Golf Club.
The Wailuku, Maui native is 3-under but still needs to finish his 18
thhole – 36
thof the day – which will be completed Tuesday morning prior to the start of the third and final round. UCLA's Bryan Wiyang Teoh and UC Santa Barbara's Zach Smith are the clubhouse leader at 6-under 138 among a field of 100 golfers.
Ngan carded four birdies in a five-hole stretch included three straight on Nos. 13-15 to get to 4-under for the tournament. But a bogey on his 16
thhole dropped him back a stroke and he is currently tied for fifth place with four other golfers. Ngan began the day with a 2-under 70 in Round 1.
As a team, the Rainbow Warriors are in a tie for 15
thplace. UCSB holds a seven-stroke lead at 14-under followed by fellow Big West foe Cal State Fullerton.
UH's
Justin Arcano fired a second round even par 72. The sophomore is currently tied for 56
that 6-over 150. Junior
Nick Nelson also managed to finish his second round, posting a second straight 79 and is tied for 91
stat 158.
Sophomore
Cole Yoshida (+11) and senior
Cameron Kaneko (+18) were still on the course when play was suspended.
The groups that did not conclude their round will finish Wednesday morning beginning at 8:00 a.m. PT followed by the immediate shotgun start of Round 3.
