HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team opens its 2018 season with three matches this week at the UH Tennis Complex. The Rainbow Warriors will battle Florida State on Friday, January 5 and Saturday January 6. Then the 'Bows will take on Texas Tech in a pair of matches, the first of which is scheduled for Sunday, January 7
th.
The 'Bows are a combination of newcomers and experience with three upperclassmen and six newcomers on the squad. Leading the charge into 2018 is senior
Felix Albert who is the lone returnee who earned all-Big West honors last year, garnering all-conference first team honors in singles and second team honors with partner Marcel Chan in doubles.
Joining the Rainbow Warriors this season are three UH newcomers—
Lucas Labrunie (freshman), Aleksa Lazarevic (freshman), Chia-Hua Lu, Tristan Martins (sophomore transfer),
Blaz Seric (red-shirt freshman), and
Asad Siyyid (junior transfer). All six are looking to contribute to the Rainbow Warriors' success in 2018.
The 'Bows are looking to improve upon last year's record after finishing with a 2-15 overall record and a 1-4 mark in the Big West.
