HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team fought hard, but it was not enough as UH fell to No. 24 Texas Tech in a dual match on Wednesday at the UH Tennis Complex, 5-2. The Rainbow Warriors dropped to 0-4 while Texas Tech improved to 2-1.
 
Hawai'i almost captured the doubles point. UH's No. 1 duo of Felix Albert and Fabian Woehrl came through notching a win over 29^th-ranked Jackson Cobb and Alex Sendegeya, 6-3. The other two doubles matches both saw the Raiders edge out the Rainbow Warriors in tiebreakers. TTU's Connor Curry and Matheus held off UH's Blaz Seric and Aleksa Lazarevic, 7-6 (4) and Texas Tech's Artem Kapshuk and Ilgiz Vaiev defeated the 'Bows' pair of Lucas Labruinie and Eric Kenneth, 7-6 (6) on the No. 3 court.
 
In singles, No. 6 Tristan Martins picked up his second-consecutive straight set win on Wednesday. Martins defeated Matheus Leite, 6-4, 6-4. UH's Woehrl won the first set, but dropped the final two sets to Cobb on the No. 5 court, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. Then No. 2 Albert knocking off Sendegeya, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.
 
The Rainbow Warriors have 38 days before they take on Air Force on Feb. 17 and Feb. 18 at the UH Tennis Complex.
