COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team moved up five spots into 13
th place following the conclusion of the second round of the Coeur D'Alene Collegiate Tuesday at the Coeur D'Alene Golf Course.
The Rainbow Wahine posted scores of 300 and 288 after the tournament's first day of competition for a 588 total. The tourney wraps up on Wednesday with the third and final round.
Colorado holds the team lead at 550, nine strokes better than Illinois, after a blistering 16-under 268 in Round 2. Individually, CU's Kirsty Hodgkins has a two stroke lead over Illinois' Grace Park. Hodgkins is 9-under 133 with rounds of 68 and 65.
UH junior
Kaci Masuda is tied for ninth place at 2-under 140 after firing 1-over 72 in the first round and 3-under 68 in Round 2. The Pearl City, O'ahu native carded nine birdies on the day, which tied for fifth-most among the 90-player field, and eclipsed her previous 36-hole best of 144 set at the 2017 Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.
Freshman
Sahara Washington is tied for 43
rd place at 5-over 147 with scores of 72 and 75. Fellow frosh
Tyra Tonkham is tied for 67
th at 151 (77-74) while sophomore
Megan Ratcliffe (79-75) and freshman
Emma Lower (83-71) each posted 154 and are tied for 77
th place. Lower improved 12 strokes from her first round score with an even par 71 in Round 2 that included four birdies.
