TEMPE, Ariz. – After nearly 96 minutes of scoreless action,
Raisa Strom-Okimoto connected on her second game-winning goal of the season, leading the Hawai'i soccer team to a 1-0 win at Arizona State on Friday night.
Strom-Okimoto was able to slot the game-winner over a charging Nikki Panas from six yards out just inside the far post. The goal is her second golden goal this season, and team-leading third overall.
Hawai'i (4-4) came out firing from the start, totaling 20 shots in the game, and 10 on goal. Strom-Okimoto led the charge with eight shots, while
Sonest Furtado added six. Arizona State, however, had plenty of chances as well. The Sun Devils (2-4-1) had 19 shots in the game and eight on goal. UH held a 5-4 edge in corner kicks.
Alexis Mata came up with eight saves in her second consecutive shutout performance for the Rainbow Wahine.

Paige Okazaki each played the entire 96 minutes on the UH back line, helping keep the Sun Devils off the scoreboard.

Paige Okazaki and Arizona State's Angela Boyle were each shown yellow cards in the game.
Hawai'i improves to 2-2 on the road this season, and 3-0 in overtime games this year. The Rainbow Wahine are now 9-1-5 in their last 15 overtime games, dating back to 2013.
Hawai'i's last victory over a Pac-12 school came Sept. 8, 2013 at Oregon State. The 'Bows are 1-1-1 against the Pac-12 in their last three meetings, dating back to last season.
The Rainbow Wahine visit Grand Canyon on Sept. 17 before returning home.
