NAPA, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team moved up two spots on the final day of the Silverado Showdown, Tuesday, at the Silverado Resort and Spa. The Rainbow Wahine finished in a tie for 13
th place in the 18-team field that was co-hosted by Oregon and Colorado.
Seniors
Izzy Leung and
Raquel Ek each shot 3-under 69 to propel UH to a final round 292 for an 899 total. Leung finished her round 5-under over her final nine holes while Ek carded four birdies and only one bogey on her round. The 69 tied the team's low round of the season.
No. 3 Stanford (848) went on to capture the team title by nine strokes over No. 6 UCLA (857). UCLA's Lilia Vu and Northwestern's Hannah Kim shared medalist honors at 8-under 208.
Leung tied for 26
th place at 3-over 219, her second-best score of the season while Ek tied for 60
th at 227. Sophomore
Kaci Masuda posted a final round 76 to finish at 225 and 56
th place. Senior
Daezsa Tomas tied for 76
th at 230 and freshman
Megan Ratcliffe tied for 86
th at 240.
The Rainbow Wahine will next compete in the Big West Championship, April 23-25 in Riverside, Calif.
