KAPALUA, Maui – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team sits in a tie for ninth place following the first round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic Monday at Kapalua's Bay Course.
The Rainbow Wahine shot a 307 and are tied with defending Big West Conference champion UC Davis. Leading the UH contingent was sophomore
Kaci Masuda, who fired 1-over 73, which included four birdies. The Pearl City, O'ahu native is tied for ninth place.
No. 7 UCLA is the Round 1 leader at 3-over 291, two strokes ahead of No. 33 Colorado and No. 42 San Jose State (293). No. 4 Arizona State is fourth (297) while top-ranked Stanford is fifth (299).
Individually, UCLA's Lilia Vu carded a 5-under 67 and holds a four-stroke lead over Arizona State's Monica Vaughn (71) and Colorado's Esther Lee (71).

Izzy Leung totaled 3-over 75 and is tied for 23
rd. Senior
Raquel Ek started 4-over through her first eight holes but finished 1-over on her last 10 holes to finish at 77 and is tied for 33
rd. Senior
Daezsa Tomas shot 82 and freshman
Megan Ratcliffe carded 83.
Also competing for UH as individuals are senior
Kelli-Anne Katsuda (80) and junior
Lauren Kirkwood (82).
The tournament continues on Tuesday with a 7:45 a.m., shotgun start.
