KANE'OHE, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team is in a three-way tie for sixth place following the first two rounds of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, Tuesday at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course on Marines Corps Base Hawai'i.
The Rainbow Wahine shot rounds of 300 and 289 for a two-round total of 589 and are tied with No. 24 North Carolina State and No. 37 SMU. No. 16 Texas A&M holds the lead at 4-under 572, four strokes better than Washington State (576). Two-time defending tourney champion Oklahoma State is third at 585, 13 strokes back of the Aggies.
UH sophomore
Kaci Masuda carded a career-low 3-under 69 in Round 2 and is tied for 12
th place at even par 144. Masuda birdied two straight holes midway through her second round and went 4-under during an eight-hole stretch. The Pearl City, O'ahu native completed her round with six birdies.
Senior
Izzy Leung fired a second round 72 and is tied for 17
th at 2-over 146. The Shatin, Hong Kong native holed out from the fairway on No. 8 in her first round en route to a 2-over 74. She went on to post two birdies and two bogeys in Round 2 to shoot even par.
Texas A&M's Maddie Szeryk is atop the individual leaderboard at 6-under 138 after rounds of 67 and 71. Washington State's Alivia Brown in one stroke off the lead at 5-under 139. Defending individual champ Thanya Pattamakijsak is 3-over for the tourney and tied for 25
th.
UH senior
Daezsa Tomas is tied for 34
th at 5-over 149 after rounds of 76 and 73. Senior
Kelli-Anne Katsuda is 7-over 151 (76-75) and tied for 49
th while senior
Raquel Ek is tied for 59
th at 154 (75-79).

Today's competition featured two holes-in-one. New Mexico's Katerina Jaeger aced the No. 4 hole in Round 1 while Idaho's Amy Hasenoehrl aced No. 11 in Round 2.
The tournament concludes on Wednesday with an 8:00 a.m., shotgun start.
