SAN DIEGO, Calif.--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team fell at San Diego, 7-0 on Sunday afternoon at the Cindy Hogan Tennis Center. The Rainbow Warriors fell to 1-4 overall while the Toreros improved to 4-2 overall.
San Diego captured the doubles point with a pair of 6-0 wins on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts. In singles, Hawai'i tried to battle back, but was unable to gain ground. On the No. 1 court,
Felix Albert fell to the Toreros' Guus Koevermans, 6-3, 6-3 while No. 2
Igor Kolaric lost to San Diego's Joshua Page in straight sets, but by just a break in the second set, 6-3, 6-4. UH's
Fabian Woehrl also fel by a break in the second set falling to Joel Gamerov, 6-2, 6-4. In the toughest match of the day, No. 6
Eric Kenneth lost to Garrett Kurtz. The first set ended in a tie-breaker with Kurtz edging out Kenneth, 7-5. Kenneth then won the second set before falling in a third set tie-breaker with the match already decided, 7-6 (5), 3-6, 10-2.
The Rainbow Warriors will play one more match against Loyola Marymount at the LMU Tennis Center at 2:00 pm. The match will be available online through livestats and a live video stream at LMULions.com.
