SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team is tied for fourth while freshman
Tyra Tonkham is in the Top 10 after Tuesday's first two rounds of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational at the Leilehua Golf Course.
The Rainbow Wahine fired 297 and 293 for a 590 total and is tied with No. 49 Memphis and Toledo. No. 48 Ole Miss leads the team standings at 3-under 573, three strokes ahead of Grand Canyon (576).
Memphis' Sydney Colwill carded consecutive rounds of 69 for a 6-under 138 total. Ole Miss' Julia Johnson and Sacramento State's Nishtha Madan and three strokes back at 141 heading into Wednesday's third and final round.
Tonkham, a freshman from Arleta, Calif., recorded eight birdies on the day, including five in Round 2, and is 1-over 145. After an opening round even par 72, junior
Kaci Masuda posted a 76 in Round 2 and is 4-over 148 and tied for 19
th place.
Sophomore
Megan Ratcliffe carded rounds of 74 and 75 and is 5-over 149. Freshman
Emma Lower battled back from a first round 78 with a 72 in the afternoon and is 6-over 150. Freshman
Sahara Washington is tied for 47
th at 154.
Senior
Lauren Kirkwood is competing as an individual and is shot 75-78 for a 153 total.
The tournament concludes with the final round starting at 8:00 a.m.
