COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Hawai'i sophomore setter Joe Worsley and incoming freshman Austin Matautia were among the 12 players selected to the United States Men's Junior National Team. The squad will compete at the NORCECA U21 Continental Championship, July 3-11, in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada.

Worsley is one of four players on the team, along with Joshua Tuaniga, Jordan Ewert, and Scott Stadick, who helped the U.S. capture the 2014 NORCECA U19 Continental Championship. Worsley and Tuaniga are the team's two setters and both were members of the 2015 Boys' Youth National Team that finished seventh at the FIVB U19 World Championships.

Matautia, a 2016 graduate of Moanalua High School on O'ahu, was an alternate for the U.S. Youth National Team and was also a member of the USAV's High Performance A1 team from 2012-14. As a senior at Moanalua, Matautia helped Na Menehune to a runner-up finish in the Division I state championship.

In his first season at UH, Worsley started 11 of the team's final 15 matches at setter and also served as a serving and defensive specialist. He finished the year with 457 assists (5.64 avg.), 90 digs (1.11), and eight service aces.

The USMJT will be coached by George Mason's Jay Hosack. The team was chosen from a 19-man Men's Junior Training Team roster, which was named following nation-wide tryouts held from January through March earlier this year.
