DAVIS, Calif.-The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team heads to California for its final regular season match of the season against UC Davis (10-9, 2-4 BWC) on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. The Rainbow Wahine (10-9, 4-3 Big West) will then stay on the mainland to compete in the 2016 Big West Tournament which will be held at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden (Indian Wells, Calif.), April 27-30.
The Rainbow Wahine are led by freshman
Marina Hruba, who is trying to close-out the best single-season win percentage for a women's tennis player. Hruba, currently is 18-1 overall and 15-1 in dual matches. Her lone loss came in one of two matches played on the No. 1 court. Fellow freshmen
Roxanne Resma has also done well in her rookie season. She currently is 13-6 overall and 12-4 in dual matches. Senior
Paulina Petriskova is finishing her collegiate career on a roll, winning her last three straight matches.
In doubles, the 'Bows are led by the No. 2 duo of
Cindy Nguyen and Resma. The two combined have recorded a 12-6 overall record while going 10-5 in dual matches. They have won seven of their last 10 matches.
It will be Senior Day for the Aggies who have been on a roll as of late, winning their last four straight matches-six of the last seven. Six Aggies have double digit wins on the season, led by Isabella von Ebbe who has a 14-3 overall record. She is 4-0 at No. 5 and 5-0 at No. 6 in dual matches. Jessie Lee is 17-7 overall and 13-3 in dual matches, playing all but one match on the No. 3 court where she is 12-3.
