Izzy Leung is tied for seventh following the first round of the Big West Conference Championship Sunday at Kapalua's Bay Course.
The Rainbow Wahine shot a first round 316 and trails leader Cal Poly (305) by 11 strokes heading into Monday's second round. The tournament's top two seeds – Long Beach State and defending champion UC Davis – are tied for second with UC Riverside at 308. CSUN is sixth at 318 followed by Cal State Fullerton (324) and UC Irvine (329).
The difference for Hawai'i was its first four holes (+16) and final three holes (+12) in which the team combined for 13 bogeys, six double bogeys and one triple bogey for a team score of 21-over par. In contrast, the 11 holes in between (Nos. 5-15), UH shot a team score of 7-over.
After posting two early bogeys on Nos. 3 and 4, Leung went 1-under over her next 12 holes before posting a double bogey on No. 17. The Shatin, Hong Kong native is tied for seventh at 3-over 75, three strokes behind leader Paige Lee of UC Davis (72). Lee holds a one stroke lead over LBSU's Haley Tygret (73). Four golfers are two strokes back at 2-over 74.
Freshman
Kaci Masuda birdied Nos. 9 and 11 during a three-hole stretch and was 2-over for her round before reaching No. 16 where she double-bogeyed. Two holes later she bogeyed 18 for a 5-over 77 and is tied for 12
th. Junior
Raquel Ek went 6-over during seven holes covering both her front and back nines and finished at 9-over 81 and is tied for 22
nd place.

Daezsa Tomas carded an 83 and sits in a tie for 29
th place while junior
Kelli-Anne Katsuda's eagle on par-5 No. 15 hole highlighted her round of 84 and is tied for 33
rd.
