HONOLULU – The No. 5 University of Hawai'i beach volleyball team opens its second week of competition on Saturday with a double-feature at Queen's Beach in dual matches against Hawai'i Pacific and TCU.
Marking their first home matches of the season on Saturday, the Rainbow Wahine will face local foe HPU at 9:00 a.m. on the courts at Queen's Beach. The Silverswords will play their first match of the season on Friday versus TCU. At 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, UH will meet TCU to finish out the day. The Horned Frogs are 2-1 after wins over Colorado Mesa and Cal Poly, falling to No. 9 Arizona.
The Rainbow Wahine opened with a 1-3 record at the Pepperdine Kickoff tournament, falling in consecutive matches to the current top three ranked teams, No. 2 Southern Cal (1-4), No.3 UCLA (2-3) and No. 1 Pepperdine (1-4), before closing out the tournament with a 4-1 victory over Big West Conference foe Long Beach State.

Katie Spieler and
Emily Maglio claimed the Big West Conference's first-ever Beach Pairs Team of the Week award, notching pairs wins over Pepperdine and Long Beach State.
