Big West Tournament BracketVIDEO: Team Prepares For TournamentANAHEIM, Calif. – The top-seeded University of Hawai'i men's basketball team will open the Big West Conference Tournament against eighth-seeded Cal State Fullerton in Thursday's quarterfinal round at 2:30 p.m. PT (12:30 p.m. HT) at the Honda Center.
The regular season co-champion Rainbow Warriors (24-5, 13-3 BW) swept the season series with the Titans (10-19, 3-13 BW), winning 86-79 in overtime, Jan. 16 in Fullerton, Calif., and 76-59, Feb. 13 in Honolulu. UH has won the last seven meetings between the schools, including all six in Big West play.
Hawai'i, which enters the tournament having won eight of its last 10, is 2-3 all-time in the Big West Tournament, with quarterfinal losses in 2013 and '14 and reaching the finals last season.
A win on Thursday would tie the 1989-90 Rainbow Warrior squad for the second-highest single-season win total in school history (25). Guard
Roderick Bobbitt is one steal away from equaling Tom Henderson for the most career steals in program history (160).
Earlier this week, Bobbitt was selected to the all-Big West first team along with forward
Stefan Jankovic, who was picked as Player of the Year, becoming just the second Rainbow Warrior in program history to do so. Guard
Aaron Valdes was a second-team selection and first-year head coach
Eran Ganot was named the Coach of the Year.
