HONOLULU – The No. 4 University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine beach volleyball team (9-5) returns to O'ahu for a big weekend against Pac-12 opposition, as Arizona State and No. 5 UCLA come to town for the Outrigger Beach Volleyball Challenge. The tournament opens up Friday at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex on the UH campus, moving Saturday to Queen's Beach.

The Rainbow Wahine, Sun Devils and Bruins will square off in a team pairs tournament at the Ching Complex, beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, April 1. UH last played in the format two weeks ago in hosting the Hawai'i Invitational, finishing second to No. 2 Southern Cal.

First serve is set for 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, the tournament will migrate to Queen's Beach in Waikiki and the 'SandBows' will open the day's action against Arizona State Sun Devils, who are 7-5 after winning both matches over the weekend against CSU Bakersfield and CSU Northridge. UH will return to action in a key rematch against UCLA at 1:00 p.m. The fifth-ranked Bruins are 9-4 after a 3-1 finish at the Stetson Beach Invitational—in which UH swept the field with a 4-0 record.

The SandBows meet Arizona State for the first time, while UH holds a 4-1 record against UCLA, most recently falling in a hotly-contested loss to the Bruins in the second match this season, 2-3, at the Pepperdine Kickoff Tournament. UH last defeated the Bruins in the 2015 Aloha Invitational at Queen's Beach, 4-1.
