KANE'OHE, O'ahu – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team finished in seventh place at its own Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational after Wednesday's third and final round in picture-perfect conditions at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course on Marines Corps Base Hawai'i.
The Rainbow Wahine shot a final round 301 for a 903 total. UH junior
Izzy Leung tied for eighth place at 1-over par 217 after a final round 72, which included three birdies and three bogeys. Her finish marked Hawai'i's first individual Top 10 at the tourney since Ka'ili Britos took eighth in 2013.
No. 10 Oklahoma State defended its team title with a final round 291 for an 860 total which was tied with No. 28 Texas A&M but the Cowgirls captured the title based on a tie-breaker. Pepperdine (864) finished third followed by No. 27 Texas (874), and Illinois (892). Rounding out the Top 10 was Fresno State (897), UH, Gonzaga (906), Nebraska and Idaho (914).
The title was OSU's fifth at the Donnis Thompson Invite, which celebrated its 31
st year in 2016 and trails only Arizona (8) for most championships.
Texas A&M's
Thanya Pattamakijsak captured medalist honors after firing a final round 5-under 67 and for a tournament-record 8-under 208, three strokes ahead of OSU's Maddie McCrary (72; 211) and Texas A&M's Bianca Fabrizio (69; 211). Honolulu native Marissa Chow of Pepperdine and tied for fourth with teammate Hira Naveed at 4-under 212.

Raquel Ek tied for 31
st after a final round 75 for a 226 total. Freshman
Kaci Masuda was three strokes back at 229 (77, t-38
th) followed by junior
Daezsa Tomas (77, 231; t-47
th). Junior
Kelli-Anne Katsuda placed 76
th at 243 after a final round 77.
