Men's Tennis Falls To Loyola Marymount In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nev.--The University of Hawai'i men's tennis team played a neutral site match on Saturday afternoon against Loyola Maymount in Las Vegas, Nev.

The Rainbow Warriors fell to the Lions, 7-0. LMU captured the doubles point with a pair of 6-1 wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts. UH's No. 1 duo of Felix Albert and Marcel Chan were in the middle of a tight battle against Joat Farah and Errol Smith, but their match went unfinished, 4-3.

In singles, LMU completed the sweep, winning all six singles matches. UH's Albert had the closest match of the day, taking LMU's No. 1 Charles Boyce to a three sets after splitting the first two, with Albert winning the first set 7-5 and Boyce taking the second 6-2. In the tie breaker, Boyce held off Albert for the win, 10-6 in the tiebreaker. On the No. 2 court, Chan was close to forcing a third set, but Smith was able to hold Chan off in the second for the win, 6-1, 7-5.

The Rainbow Warriors return home for a few weeks before heading to Albuquerque, N.M. for the Pacific Mountain Invitaional, (March 11-12).
