HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i women's tennis team concluded the play in the Weinman Foundation Invitational with matches against HPU on Sunday at the UH Tennis Complex.
In doubles, Hawai'i split their two matches. UH's
Michelle Pits and
Alzbeta Houbova doubled up on HPU's Barbora Kijasova and Oceane Adam, 6-3. Hawai'i's
Saga Shermis and
Sophia Storch fell by the same score to Leticia dos Santos and Monica Greene.
The Rainbow Wahine won four out of five singles matches. All five matches were won in straight sets.
Klara Pribylova and
Nikola Dolakova both won their matches 6-1, 6-4 over HPU's Greene and Kijasova respectively.
Petra Melounova cruised past Nicole Hoynaski 6-2, 6-1 while
Roxanne Resma defeated dos Santos, 6-3, 6-1.
Marina Hruba suffered UH's only singles loss on Sunday to Oceane Adam in the closest match of the day which ended in a 7-5 tiebreaker in the second set, 7-5, 7-6 (5).
Hawai'i will participate in this week's Kailua Night Doubles event from Nov. 7-9 and then they will close their fall against Stanford on Maui on Nov. 20.
