Live ScoringSAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team remains in ninth place following the second round of the Big West Conference Championship, Monday, at the San Luis Obispo Country Club.
After two rounds, the Rainbow Warriors are at 623 (316-307). UC Davis continues to hold its lead in the team standings (573) by one stroke over UC Irvine (575) and UC Riverside (575) followed by Cal Poly (585), Long Beach State (587), UC Santa Barbara (590), Cal State Fullerton (596), and CSUN (599).
Freshman
Smart Kittirattanapaiboon continues to pace the Rainbow Warriors following his second round 75 and is tied for 33
rd at 152 (77-75). The Chiangmai, Thailand native made the turn at 1-over and got to even par after a birdie on the par-5 10
th hole but struggled down the stretch, going 4-over on his final four holes.
Sophomore
Skye Inakoshi and junior
Scotty Yamashita are tied for 41
st at 156 after posting 76 and 78, respectively. Senior
Ryan Kuroiwa also shot 78 and is in 44
th place at 159 while sophomore
Pono Tokioka improved 12 strokes from his first round score and is 45
th at 176.
First round leader David Gazzolo of UC Riverside shot 74 and is now tied atop the leaderboard with UC Irvine's Pete Fernandez, who fired 2-under 68, at 1-over 141 for the tourney. The duo have a two-stroke lead over a pack of three golfers.
The championship concludes with the third round and final round on Tuesday with a 7:00 a.m. PT start.
