Final Results

HONOLULU – The Rainbow Wahine Invitational concluded on Saturday at the Queen's Beach Sandbox with the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine pair of Olivia Urban and Katie Spieler falling in three sets to Pepperdine's Kellie Woolever and Kelley Larsen. Set scores were 17-21, 31-29, 15-5.

After Urban and Spieler took set one, the two teams entertained the hundreds of fans in attendance with an epic second set. Both tandems staved off multiple set points, and in Pepperdine's case match points, before Woolever and Larson eventually claimed the win. The Wave pair would handily win set three to crown themselves Queens of the Beach.

Individual honors were handed out following the match with Spieler named Best Defensive Player.

Five other Rainbow Wahine teams competed in the eight-team silver bracket. UH's No. 1 pair of Brittany Tiegs and Nikki Taylor advanced to the final before falling to Pepperdine's Corinne Quiggle and Katie Messing.

The 'Bows next travel to Chula Vista, Calif. and the USA Volleyball Beach Collegiate Challenge for dual and pairs competitions.
