HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team will have to wait at least one more game to get its 20^th win, falling 98-90 to UC Santa Barbara in Big West Conference action on Senior Night at the Stan Sheriff Center.
 
Roderick Bobbitt had a career high 26 points for the 'Bows (19-12, 7-8 BWC), shooting 6-10 from the floor and converting on 11 of his 12 foul shots. Stefan Jankovic added 20 points and seven rebounds and shot 10-11 from the line.  
 
Gabe Vincent led four Gauchos (17-12, 10-5 BWC) in double-figures with 25 points on 8-13 shooting including 5-8 from beyond the arc. Alan Williams had 13 points and 10 rebounds before fouling out with 1:12 to play.
 
The first half saw the Gauchos start hot and finish hotter. Vincent hit on a pair of three-pointers early to give UCSB an 11-5 lead and Williams' jumper extend the lead to nine less than six minutes into the game.
 
Bobbitt and Isaac Fleming later hit back-to-back three pointers to thrust UH back into the game. Coupled with consecutive buckets by Jankovic, the UCSB lead had been trimmed to three points with 6:07 to play. The Gauchos would close the half on a 9-4 run and take a 10-point lead into halftime.
 
The Gauchos extended to a double-digit lead early in the second half and pushed the advantage to 73-56 with just over 10 minutes left in the game. The 'Bows played the foul game late, cutting the lead to six points on two occasions, but the Gauchos hits their shots from the charity stripe to seal the win.
 
The 'Bows now hit the road for their final regular season game, playing at Cal State Fullerton this Saturday, March 7. Hawai'i will remain on the road in advance of next week's Big West Tournament at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif.
