Photo GalleryKAPALUA, Maui – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team moved up two spots into a tie for 10
th following the second day of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, Tuesday at Kapalua's The Bay Course.
The Rainbow Wahine shot 298 and are tied with UC Riverside with a 614 total. UC Davis moved up to the top spot taking over for first round leader Texas after firing 1-under 287 and is 1-over 577 for the tourney. The Longhorns are second at 582 while Oregon posted the day's best score of 284 and is 585.
Rounding out the Top 10 is San Jose State (588), Louisville (589), SMU (591), Oregon State (597), Gonzaga (599), Santa Clara (611), and UH and UC Riverside (614).
UCD's Andrea Wong shot 4-under 68 and holds the Round 2 lead at 5-under 139, one stroke better than teammate Paige Lee, the Round 1 leader who shot even par 72 on Tuesday. Oregon's Caroline Inglis shot 68 and is 143 for the tourney.
Sophomore
Raquel Ek led UH with even par 72 and is tied for 21
st at 5-over 149. The San Diego, Calif., native recorded four birdies and four bogeys during her round. Sophomore
Izzy Leung shot 2-over 74 and is 7-over 151 for the tournament, tied for 29
th.
Sophomore
Brianna Becker rebounded from a first round 83 with a 75 and is tied for 54
th at 158. Freshman
Marie Donnici is one stroke back after a 77 on Tuesday while junior
Nichole Cruz is tied for 61
st at 160 with her second straight 80.
Three Rainbow Wahine are competing as individuals – sophomore
Daezsa Tomas (78-77=155),
Kelli-Anne Katsuda (81-84-165) and
Lauren Kirkwood (81-84=165).
The tournament concludes on Wednesday with the third and final round. Shotgun start is 7:45 a.m. HT.
