th place following the first round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic, Monday at Kapalua's The Bay Course.
The Rainbow Wahine shot a first round 316 and were led by sophomores
Izzy Leung and
Raquel Ek, who each shot 5-over 77.
Texas holds the first day lead after shooting even par 288, two strokes better than Louisville (290) and UC Davis (290). Gonzaga is fourth (295) followed by SMU (299), San Jose State (299) and Oregon (301). Rounding out the field are Oregon State (303), Santa Clara (306), UC Riverside (307), Portland State (307), UH and Xavier (316), Brown (325), and Texas-Pan American (338).
UC Davis' Paige Lee is the top individual at 4-under 68. A group of five golfers are three strokes back at 1-under. Leung and Ek are tied for 42
nd while junior
Nichole Cruz is tied for 59
th after a first round 80. Also participating for UH are freshman
Marie Donnici (82) and sophomore
Brianna Becker (83).
Three Rainbow Wahine are competing as individuals – sophomore
Daezsa Tomas (78),
Kelli-Anne Katsuda (81) and
Lauren Kirkwood (81).
The second round continues on Tuesday with the third and final round scheduled for Wednesday.
