No. 71 Women's Tennis Travels To California, Nevada For Busy Roadtrip

HONOLULU -- The No. 71 University of Hawai'i women's tennis team embarks on a 17-day long trip traveling to central California to battle Big West rival Cal Poly on Mar. 23, No. 54 Illinois on Mar. 25, and No. 70 UC Santa Barbara (Mar 26). The Rainbow Wahine will then travel to Las Vegas, Nev. to play UNLV on Mar. 28 before heading to northern California to play against No. 53 San Jose State on Apr. 2 and UC Davis on Apr. 4. 

The Rainbow Wahine's most recent match was on March 14 when they took on Big West opponent, Cal State Fullerton in their last home match of the season. The `Bows rallied for an exciting 4-3 win with freshman Klara Pribylova clinching the match. This past week, fellow freshman Viktoria Malova was named the BWC Athlete Of The Week, after winning both her singles and doubles match against SMU and Cal State Fullerton. 

Cal Poly is currently 2-9 in the 2015 season. The Mustangs are led by freshman, Molly Reed with five singles wins and three doubles wins with partner Sayaka Tsugai. She is also currently on a two-match win streak in singles. Most recently, Cal Poly's defeated Idaho in a close 4-3 match. 

The Fighting Illni are currently ranked 54th in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll with a 7-5 dual match record. Illinois is led by Melissa Kopinski with eight singles and doubles wins partnering with Louise Kwong and Alexis Casati. Illinois' most recent match was a 6-1 loss to Big 10 rival Northwestern.

UCSB is currently ranked 70th in the nation with a 8-6 record in 2015. The Gauchos are led by freshman Natalie De Silveira with 14 singles wins and seven doubles wins with partner, Jamie Gilbertson. UCSB's most recent match was a 5-2 win over Gonzaga.

UNLV is currently 5-11 and are led by Paola Artiga with 12 singles wins. She is currently on a seven-match win streak in singles. UNLV's most recent match was a 5-2 loss to Columbia. 

San Jose State is currently ranked No. 53 in the nation with an 8-6 record in 2015. The Spartans are led by freshman Malin Cubukcu with nine singles wins. San Jose State's most recent match was against Arizona State, with the Sun Devils sweeping the Spartans, 7-0.

UC Davis is currently 5-10 in the 2015 season. The Aggies are led by Frederique Sleiffer with 10 singles win and 9 doubles wins. UC Davis' most recent match was against Santa Clara, but fell 5-2.
