Izzy Leung fired rounds of 72 and 69 and is currently in fourth place at 3-under 141 after the first day of the 30
th Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, Tuesday, at the Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course.
Leung is four shots behind leader Linnea Johansson of Oklahoma State, who is 7-under 137 (67-70) for the tournament. Johansson's teammate Emma Broze is at 5-under while Texas A&M's Marijosse Navarro is one stroke back at 4-under.
OSU, which is ranked No. 14 in the latest Golf Week national rankings, leads the tourney at 10-under 566, 10 stokes better than No. 15 Texas A&M (576). Baylor is third (595), followed by Middle Tennessee State (596), Fresno State (598) and host Hawai'i (605). Rounding out the Top 10 is Idaho (606), Nevada (607), Montana (619), and UTEP (621).
Leung already has one collegiate victory this season at the season-opening Oregon State Invitational. The Shatin, Hong Kong native shot even par 72 in her opening round which featured three birdies and three bogeys. In her second 18, she posted four birdies and one bogey and finished her final 12 holes in 4-under par.

th place at 150 following rounds of 73 and 77. Sophomroe
Brianna Becker and freshman
Marie Donnici are tied for 49
th at 157. Becker shot 78 and 79 while Donnici 80 and 77. Rounding out the team score is sophomore
Kelli-Anne Katsuda, who shot 80 and 83 for a 163 total and tie for 66
th.
Three Rainbow Wahine competed as individuals – junior
Nichole Cruz (81-78=159), freshman
Lauren Kirkwood (81-79=160), and sophomore
Daezsa Tomas (81-84=165).
The tournament concludes on Wednesday with the third and final round. Shotgun start is 8:00 a.m. HT.
