Game NotesHONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's basketball team returns home this week to host Long Beach State in Big West Conference action on Thursday night at the Stan Sheriff Center. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
The 'Bows (18-11, 6-7 Big West) are coming off a pair of road losses this past week to UC Irvine and league leader UC Davis whose lone conference loss continues to be to Hawai'i in their first meeting last month at the Stan Sheriff Center. It was the first time all season UH had suffered back-to-back defeats and dropped it to sixth in the conference standings.
Forward
Stefan Jankovic set career highs in both games. Against UC Irvine, he pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds then two nights later at UC Davis, set a new career-high of 21 points.
Roderick Bobbitt continues to be the nation's steal leader. He ranks first in total steals (91) and steals per game (3.14). Against UC Riverside in UH's last home stand he set a new UH record for steals in a season.
Long Beach State comes in with a 13-15 overall record and is fourth in the Big West with a 7-5 league mark. The 'Bows will look to atone for their Jan. 31
st loss at Long Beach State where they squandered a sizable early lead to fall 65-50, their lowest point total of the season.
