HONOLULU – Stefan Jankovic delivered a double-double with a season-high 12 rebounds and the University of Hawai'i men's basketball team started slow and finished strong in a 75-47 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Wednesday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Jankovic's 14-points were a team high as the 'Bows (5-1) remained perfect at home in collecting their fourth win in six years over the Golden Lions (2-5). Isaac Fleming (13 pts) and Sai Tummala (12 pts) led Hawai'i to a 34-11 bench scoring advantage and Mike Thomas added nine points in just 13 minutes of action.

Ghiavonni Robinson led Arkansas-Pine Bluff with 14 points on 6-21 shooting. JoVaughn Love added 11 points and six rebounds.

The game started off with Pine Bluff hitting on just one of its first eight shots as the 'Bows held a slim lead after an ugly first four minutes. Roderick Bobbitt (6 pts) hit Aaron Valdes (7 pts, 7 reb, 5 ast) on a nice alley-oop tip in but a Deshon Bayless jumper evened the game at 10-10 with 12:02 to play in the first half.

Second chance points would keep the Golden Lions in the game but the 'Bows would extend their lead to 22-16 off a Valdes steal leading to a Fleming fast break layup.  UH started to gain some distance on back-to-back layups from Bobbitt, the second off a steal from Quincy Smith (5 pts, 8 reb). Then it was Bobbitt's turn to do the distributing, finding an open Thomas under the hoop who dunked it home to help the 'Bows to a 6-0 run and an 11-point halftime lead.

The Golden Lions hung around early in the second half as Robinson drained a three pointer to cut into what had been a double-digit UH lead. The 'Bows responded with a 9-1 run and after a dunk by Tummala the lead had swelled to 20 points with 6:05 to play.

UH returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 8 vs. UH-Hilo at the Stan Sheriff Center. Tip off is set for 7:00 p.m.
