Match NotesLONG BEACH, Calif.—The No. 6 University of Hawai'i women's volleyball team (20-1, 10-0 Big West) will hit the road for a pair of pivotal Big West Conference matches. The Rainbow Wahine—who are riding a 15-match win streak—will battle Long Beach State on Friday, Nov. 6 at 7:00 p.m. (PT) followed by a match at CSUN on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 7:00 p.m. (PT).
The Rainbow Wahine remained steady at No. 6 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll this week, but fell nine spots to No. 32 in the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) after defeating UC Riverside and Cal State Fullerton last weekend. UH had been rising in the RPI for three consecutive weeks, before falling back on Monday. With UH's win over the Titans on Sunday's Senior Night, the 'Bows hit the 20-win mark for the 22nd-straight season and the 37th time in program history. Hawai'i will now end the season playing its final six conference games on the road.
Although Hawai'i tallied a season-low 4.5 blocks against Cal State Fullerton on Sunday, the Rainbow Wahine remained the No. 1 blocking team in the NCAA averaging 3.43 blocks per set. In the NCAA, the 'Bows are also ranked No. 4 in win-loss percentage (.952); No. 6 in opponent hitting percentage (.141) and No. 11 in total blocks (253.5). Overall, Hawai'i leads the Big West with blocks per set; 13.95 kills per set; 1.54 service aces per set; team hitting percentage; and opponent hitting percentage.
Senior middle hitter
Olivia Magill continues to lead the Big West with a .383 hitting percentage (No. 35 in NCAA) and 1.61 blocks per set (No. 8 in NCAA). In fact, UH boasts the top three blocks and top two hitters in the league. Magill,

Nikki Taylor are 1, 2, and 3 in the BWC. Maglio, a sophomore middle hitter, has a .373 hitting percentage while averaging 1.34 blocks per set.
Taylor, a junior opposite, remains as the cornerstone of the team. She returned to the court last week after missing UH's match against UC Irvine. Taylor continues to lead the Rainbow Wahine with 4.26 kills per set, 298 total kills and 35 service aces. She is also second on the team with 146 digs and 86 total blocks. Taylor Is No. 5 in the NCAA with 5.41 points per set (kills + blocks + aces).

Series Record: Hawai'i has a 29-17 advantage over Long Beach State in their storied rivalry that goes back to the 1980's. Hawai'i edged out the 49ers in their first meeting this season in five sets on Oct. 11 (22-25, 25-12, 16-25, 25-21, 15-8). But, last season, the 49ers swept UH en route to their undefeated run through conference play to capture the Big West title in 2014. Both of last year's matches went to five sets. On the road in Long Beach, UH fell 25-15, 22-25, 26-24, 21-25, 15-11 on Oct. 11, 2014. In Honolulu, LBSU was down two sets before mounting an epic comeback to defeat UH in heartbreaking fashion, 27-25, 25-22. 18-25, 17-25, 15-10 (Nov. 7, 2014).

Series Record: UH and CSUN have played 19 times in history, with the Rainbow Wahine winning 17 of those contests. Earlier this season, the 'Bows swept CSUN, 25-19, 25-16, 25-16 on Oct. 9 during Homecoming weekend. Last season however, the Matadors defeated the 'Bows in Northridge (Oct. 10, 2014) in straight sets, 25-17, 25-20, 25-21. Hawai'i came back at home in Honolulu (Nov. 8, 2014) to win in four sets, 25-16, 22-25, 25-23, 25-18.
